Product Specific Privacy Disclosure

Student Audit

When your school board uses the Student Audit browser extension and software-as-a-service, students ("them", "they", "their") with the extension enabled provide us with personal information related to their browsing history. This information may include their email address, browser ID, browsing web history, internal and external IP data, as well as HTTP header information. This information is made accessible to technology staff at the respective School Board through our secure web portal.

All collected information is transmitted using modern cryptography methods and stored securely behind password protected systems with encryption at rest.

The purpose of this data collection is to help protect staff and students from malicious, dangerous, or otherwise high risk online content. Each URL processed by our system is topically tagged for self-harm, school violence, child exploitation, cyberbullying, pornography, adult social networks, vulgarity, drug related content, malware, and anonymizer tools and services.

All collected information is considered the property of the School Board. Our data retention period is established with each School Board during setup but typically conforms to 30 days. Students and staff can inquire about this retention period through their School Board technology department. Requests to redact content will be redirected to School Board technology staff but arbitrated by our team.

We provide fast, easy methods for downloading and erasing individual student data in compliance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

All data accesses are logged and made available to the School Board to ensure accountability and appropriate use by all staff at the school board as well as the Imagine Everything team.

All data is stored in the region of choice by a School Board (e.g. Canada, US, Europe).
