The more information that is available on your website for students, parents and community members, the more successful your website will be. NightFyre for Schools is capable of being a complete communication hub between your staff and students, parents and community members.

One of our schools with a student population of approximately 400 students averages approximately 20,000 visitors to their website each month. That tells us that almost every student and parent is visiting their site on a regular basis to see what's new!

To help your school achieve this kind of success, we've provided some tips based on what we've seen some of our most successful schools do.

Administrators

  1. Let Your Staff Decide - our software is designed to make a teachers job easier. Allow your staff to see the software and understand what its purpose and goals are. Their participation is essential to the success of your school website.
  2. Lead by Example - if you teach a class, make sure your homework is up, if you coach a sports team, make sure you post your player roster, game dates and photos of various team events.
  3. Go-Live Date - if your school is new to NightFyre, give a specific date where you would like to see all teachers posting homework. Make sure you give your staff adequate time to sign-in and experiment with the system. Clearly communicate this date to your staff.
  4. Train Your Staff - ensure your school technology person is well trained on the system, and have them approach staff who may be having trouble using the system.
  5. Publicize Your Website - make the introduction of your site a major, exciting event in your next few printed newsletters. Announce that homework and other exciting school information is now available over your P.A. systems. If you require assistance with your publicizing, contact your Dreamstalk Studios service representative and we would be happy to help you with ideas.

Teachers

  1. Try the Software - our software was designed by teachers with the goal of making your job easier. If you have any troubles using the system, let us know!
  2. Help Your Peers - although the system is built with non-technical people foremost in mind, some of your peers may not be as experienced as you. Lend a helping hand where you can and offer encouragement. If necessary, direct them to our support number and we would be happy to help.
  3. Be Creative - we have found a number of very creative teachers who have used our features in ways we never expected. One food studies teacher posts her recipes online! Another teacher uses the homework system for reminders at the younger grades: don't forget your pencil crayons tommorrow!
  4. Give Us Feedback - your voice helps us better the system! Most of our new features come from teachers with innovative ideas just like yourself.
  5. Share Your Success - let other staff members who may be doubtful about the success of the system hear your student and parent success stories.
